We all think we're so fucking smart, with our New Yorker subscriptions and our 9-11 viewing parties, our "Concerts For Change, our Meetups, and our little black-hooded videos. So caught up in the specialness of our tasteful "dissent" that we couldn't see what was going on. Oooooh! Let's raise money for politics through literature and comedy! We're such suckers.
