New Books From Pollack [Jul 8, 2004]

I realize that no one is checking this space these days, since I've abandoned my post in favor of low blood pressure. But I thought I'd alert the few ragged survivors of a once-great race to my recent ventures.

Akashic Books is about to inaugurate a series of early writings by U.S. Presidents, with original commentaries from some of today's most affordable writers. I was assigned to write about John Adams. Akashic will release the book on September 15 to coincide with the anniversary of the death of John Adams' mother's first cousin. But you can buy an advance copy here.

I've also written two short stories that are included in recently-published anthologies. My story "Scavenger Hunt," which makes fun of Brooklyn hipsters, can be found in the excellent crime fiction anthology Brooklyn Noir. My story "Death In The Alt-Country," which makes fun of Chicago hipsters, can be found in Lit Riffs, a collection of stories based on popular songs.

That's all for now. Coming soon from Neal Pollack Productions: A graphic novel about 1840s New York and a memoir about being a "cool" dad. And you think I'm kidding.
